The Trojan Soccer Academy Summer ID Camps is a 1-3 days camps targeted towards girl players between 8th-12th grade, who wants to gain an insight knowledge in what it takes to play collegiate soccer. The camp will take place at McAlister Field home to the USC Women’s Soccer Team.
University of Southern California (USC), offers a wide range of high-quality study options, as being the center for both arts, technology and international business in Los Angeles. The university also enjoys a status of being one of the world’s leading private research universities, which gives the students rich opportunities to develop in highly advanced learning environments with the guidance and collaboration from leading researchers. USC was in a new rating made by The Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education rated as no. 15 among 1,061 public and private universities. Not only is the university in the top in the academic department, it also manages to perform excellently in its athletic department. Most recently the Women’s Soccer Team won the NCAA final in 2016.
The camp staff consists of experienced coaches from the USC coaching team. Head Coach Keidane McAlpine was named NSCAA Pacific Region Coach of the Year and Pac-12 in 2013 and has led the Women of Troy to 12 NCAA appearances with 2 won NCAA Championships.
The camps will be assisted by the current players of the women’s USC Trojan soccer team.
The camps are meant to give the campers a first-hand experience on how it is like to play soccer on a collegiate level. The way it is going to be done in practice is by mirroring real USC training sessions in the camp, to give a realistic picture of the collegiate soccer players daily life on the field.
The campers will be tested and challenged both physically and mentally as well as getting their tactical knowledge expanded. They will get a chance to talk with the current players and the coaches about the life as an USC Trojan, the college recruiting process, and academics.
The camps will also be offering goalkeeper specific training sessions, where goalkeepers train separately from the others and join the field players again for match play.
