Duke Soccer School – ID and Elite Residential Camps

Duke Soccer School is 2-3 days summer ID and Elite Residential Camps targeted towards young female soccer players between 8th -12th grade, who wants to discover what it takes to play collegiate soccer in Division 1, 2 and 3. The camp will take place at Duke University in Durham, NC.

Even though Duke University is among the younger universities in the nation, it keeps reaching a prestige status and constantly gets ranked among the very best universities. Several of Duke’s programs are among the leaders in their fields, taking business, divinity, engineering, the environment, law, medicine, nursing and public policy as examples. Duke is a very internationally active university, which gives students the opportunity to pursue their studies overseas. In the athletic department, Duke is also performing in the top class, with over 27 NCAA Division 1 field teams in a variety of sports. The Blue Devils have won national championships in men’s basketball, lacrosse and soccer, and women’s golf, soccer, and tennis.

The camp staff consists of experienced coaches from The Blue Devils, guest coaches, lecturers and student-athlete coaches, all from Duke University. Head Coach Robbie Church has created the groundwork that brought the Blue Devils’ status up among the nation’s elite programs. Church has over 15 seasons with the Blue Devils, and has led Duke to 173 wins and 12 NCAA Tournament berths including appearances in the national championship game. Assistant Coach Erwin Van Bennekom is originally from The Netherlands and has brought 16 years of coaching experience, both from the collegiate and professional environment, to The Devils.

The training session will be developed specifically to enhance and develop technical skills and tactical awareness. Other areas which will be included in the training include speed & agility training, nutrition, and academic preparation.

Goalkeeper training will also be available at the camp.

Duke Soccer School camps are designed to give the campers high-quality training from an elite program, teach campers about the demands of collegiate soccer, and give an on-campus view of the Duke University women’s soccer program.
