Adelphi Soccer School and Camps

Adelphi Panthers Soccer Boys – Girls Camps has announced this summer, where players from the ages of 6-13 can learn soccer skills and tips.

Location is Motamed Field on Adelphi’s Garden City campus, will consist of technical and dynamic training run by the Adelphi coaching staff and current players, with both small-sided games to maximize touches while providing players with a competitive environment to express their love of the game, and larger games so players can demonstrate their knowledge of the game in its entirety.

Adelphi’s College of Nursing and Public Health began in 1943 as the first Central Collegiate School of Nursing, which became one of the largest units of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt dedicated the residence halls built to accommodate the cadets in 1944.
Adelphi students are making their mark across academic fields and country borders. Adelphi students have garnered Fulbright Fellowships for research and service abroad. They have been recruited to leading universities for graduate work and to premier global companies, such as Google, to pursue rewarding careers. They have won prestigious scholarships, such as the Goldwater Scholarship, for their research and innovation. Students in Adelphi’s highly regarded performing arts program have garnered numerous accolades from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. The American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance frequently has recognized students in the physical education program for their leadership, scholarship and community service.

Carlo Acquista
Head Coach

One of the youngest Division I coaches in the country (23 years old) hired at St. Francis College. (2002). Acquista is the eighth coach in the history of Adelphi University (2007).
Before his collegiate career, Acquista attended Holy Cross High School of Queens where he was part of three straight CHSAA city championship teams.
A graduate of St. John’s University (2000), Acquista was a four-year member of the Red Storm men’s soccer team. He helped St. John’s capture an NCAA Division I National title in 1996 and also had a hand in two Big East Championship teams. Acquista earned a degree in sports management from St. John’s and graduated from Adelphi University with a master’s degree in sports management.

Adelphi University joined the Northeast-10 Conference in the fall of 2009 and in the past seven seasons, has collected 20 regular season conference titles, 24 tournament championships, 29 individual crowns and captured the Northeast-10 Presidents’ Cup three times (2013, 2014, and 2016), while winning five NCAA Division II National Championships.
