The Central Michigan University Soccer Camps is holding CMU Soccer Academy 2017 Elite ID Academy ‘Summer Series’ for players going into 7th grade – 19 years old to focus on providing each age group targeted programming in developmentally appropriate learning environments.

The Head Coach Peter McGahey, Peter McGahey was named the fifth head coach in Central Michigan women’s soccer history on Jan. 9, 2013. McGahey played four seasons for the University of Denver from 1992-96, where he received his bachelor’s degree in communications. He earned his master’s in physical education at Ball State University in 2005 and is pursuing his Doctorate from Minnesota State in Educational Leadership with an interest on experiential learning, self-efficacy and coaching efficacy. The Assistant Coach/Director of External Affairs; Heather Cato joined the Central Michigan women’s soccer program as an assistant coach in April, 2016. Cato was a four-year starter at Arkansas from 1996-99 and played on the U.S. Women’s National U-20 Team. She ranks as the seventh all-time leading scorer in Razorback history with 24 career goals.
The Chippewa Elite ID Academy is a fast-paced and dynamic learning environment. Players will be provided opportunity to interact with the CMU coaching staff and CMU student-athletes in addition to various other local and regional college coaches. The Academy ‘next-level’ player development curriculum is geared toward immediate application and critical player enhancement take-a-ways. The curriculum will include important ‘off-field’ development areas of sports performance and leadership. In addition to fundamental instruction, campers will be exposed to sport specific strategies and will have the chance to meet new people.
