Delta State University Women’s Soccer College ID Camp is an ideal way to experience soccer at the next level. The 1-day ID camp is open to all interested 9th to 12th graders. This camp emphasizes player development. The training session’s format is also the same the Delta State University women’s soccer team uses. Furthermore, it gives participants a feel of college training. The camp staff includes the Delta State Women’s Soccer coaches and current players. They will provide each participant max attention and evaluation opportunities. There is also a college recruiting talk during the camp. The Delta State University women’s soccer camp will start at 9:30 am on June 20. It will take place at Statesmen Park which is behind the university’s Football Stadium.
Delta State University is a regional public institution in Cleveland, Mississippi. The university has a campus size of 339 acres and is a former teachers’ college. Now, the university is offering traditional as well as unique programs of study. The university also advances student training through certain fields. To addition, they are providing graduate programs of study for 8 master’s degrees. They also provide the Education Specialist degree and the Doctor of Education degree. In the fall of 2015, there are more than 4,800 students enrolled. 600 students more are in post-graduate or professional-level courses. Delta State’s sports teams are the Statesmen. Currently, they have 13 intercollegiate sports teams competing at the NCAA Division II level.

Luke Sheekey is the Head Coach of the Delta State University women’s soccer team. He is a holder of the highest coaching license by the United States Soccer Federation, National “A”. In his first season, the women’s soccer team bags 32 goals. This feat is the 3rd highest number goals in a season in team history. Then, completing Coach Sheekey’s coaching staff are Shauna Griffin and Nathan Gillespie, both are graduate assistant coaches.
