Johns Hopkins Soccer Elite Camp: Mid-Atlantic Soccer Academy

Join the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays Men’s Soccer Elite Camp, the “Mid Atlantic Soccer Academy”. It is a four-day event that will run from the 4th of July until the 7th of July and costs $685 with a $200 deposit. This Johns Hopkins training program is designed to enhance soccer techniques and at the same time showcase outstanding soccer skills. The training program includes high-level team concept drills. Furthermore, this four-day soccer event is open to all high school boys to dream to play at the college level. It is both an overnight and commuter camp that will take place at the scenic Johns Hopkins University campus. The camp program is set to start at 1:00 PM on Day 1 and end at 11:15 PM on Day 4.

The Mid Atlantic Soccer Academy staff has had coaches from the following schools attend over the past decade: Johns Hopkins University (host location), University of Maryland, NC State, Old Dominion, University of Virginia, Wake Forest, Carnegie Mellon, Case Western Catholic, Gettysburg, Johns Hopkins, Kean, Lynchburg, Vassar, Washington & Lee, Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, Elon, Loyola (MD), Navy, Wofford, Belmont, East Tennessee State, Georgia Southern, Radford, Winthrop

The Mid Atlantic Soccer Academy provides tactical and technical training sessions and competitive play. Mid Atlantic Soccer Academy (MASA) does not give out evaluations to the players, but campers are encouraged to interact with the coaching staff. There is a College Information Session to provide information regarding the different divisions of college soccer and the recruiting process, for instance between Johns Hopkins (Division 3 soccer) and University of Maryland (Division 1 soccer). Campers stay on the campus of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. The Johns Hopkins Soccer Camp is limited to 140 campers, including 16 keepers.

Mid Atlantic Soccer Academy has leased or rented facilities from the Johns Hopkins University. However, Mid Atlantic Soccer Academy and any programs operated by Mid Atlantic Soccer Academy are not related to or affiliated with the Johns Hopkins University in any way. Mid Atlantic Soccer Academy is an entirely separate legal entity with no connection to the Johns Hopkins University aside from the temporary use of facilities for the specified program.

Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays Men’s Soccer Elite Camp Organizers

The head coach of the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays men’s soccer team is Craig Appleby from Mt. Washington. He is now in his 10th season at the helm of the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays men’s soccer program. Coach Craig Appleby is a bachelor’s degree graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Additionally, Coach Craig Appleby is the 2011 Centennial Conference Coach of the Year awardee. This award comes after he led to Blue Jays to a Centennial Conference regular-season title. Under his leadership, the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays men’s soccer team has already three Centennial Conference titles. Furthermore, Coach Craig Appleby is the only second coach to have led his team to an NCAA Tournament appearance in his inaugural season. Then, the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays men’s soccer assistant coach is Winston Earle, a native of Kingston, Jamaica. Coach Winston Earle is now in his 29th season with the coaching staff. Prior to coaching, Coach Earle played for professional teams such as the Baltimore Bays, Rochester Lancers and Baltimore Comets of the North American Soccer League (NASL). He also has coaching stints at Community College of Baltimore, Morgan State University, and Coppin State University. Finally, the Blue Jays goalkeeper coach is William Vanzela. Coach William Vanzela is now in his second season with the coaching staff.
