The Texas Longhorns Girls Soccer Elite ID Camp is a 2-day summer camp aimed towards young female players between the age of 10-18 years old, with the ambitions of playing high level competitive collegiate soccer or strives to reach a professional career. The camp will take place in Austin, TX at the Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field and the Whitaker Recreational Fields not far from Texas University campus.
The University of Texas at Austin is one of the best and biggest research universities in the country. It was ranked in the top 20 of public schools by the U.S. News & World Report, with both its science, humanities, and arts programs in the top of the country. The university offers an environment where a mix of innovation and tradition creates the frames for renewable teaching and learning techniques to take place and give the students the possibilities to develop their potential as researchers and persons. It’s not only in the academics where the university’s pride is, in the athletic department the university has across all sports earned 51 national championships and achieved more big 12 Conference titles than any other school since the league was created in 1996.
The camp staff consist of experienced coaches from the Longhorn coaching team: Head Coach Angela Kelly who has led the team to two Big 12 Championship semifinals and back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011, Assistant coach Kristine Lilly who is one of the most accomplished players in the sport of soccer and certainly one of the most successful and decorated female athletes in United States history, Lilly remains the world’s all-time appearance leader with 352 caps, Assistant Coach Keely Dowling who is a three-time National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and an All-America honoree as a defender at Tennessee has lead Texas to 31 victories, a two Big 12 Championship semifinal berths, and a NCAA Tournament appearance, besides helping mentor defenses at the same time that have accomplished 26 total shutouts and Assistant Coach Jaimel Johnson together with other college coaches, top high school coaches and high-level club coaches will have a gathered 50 years experience in soccer camps.
The coaches will be participating actively in the daily training on the camp and create a learning environment for the players at the camp.
The program will be a challenging mix of technical and tactical techniques designed for the player to get exposed to a higher level soccer practice and to push the player to improve their game. There will be small sided and full sided games where the players will be able to show off their skills for the Texas Soccer Coaching Staff and the other visiting college coaches.
Goalkeeping is also in the program, they will be undergoing a specialized training.
The program is designed for competitive players who have the ambitions to improve their game and play high-level soccer.
