The University of Detroit Mercy Men’s Soccer Camps host Spring and Summer prospect camps at the Titan Field on the University of Detroit , led by the Detroit Titan’s Men’s Soccer coaching staff. This camp is open to current high school freshman and older (including college students) and serves as a great opportunity to be evaluated by the UDM coaching staff as well as other college coaches ranging from Division I, Division II, Division III, and NAIA.
Offering more then 100 academic degreen and programs through seven schools and colleges, The University of Detroit Mercy is Michigan’s largest and most comprehensive Catholic university, sponsored by the Religious Sisters of Mercy and the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits).
The men’s soccer coaching staff is led by head coach Nicholas Deren who just completed his fourth full season at the helm of the Titans. The 2012 Horizon League Men’s Soccer Regular Season Champions boasted a Major League Soccer draft pick and signee in 2013 as senior Adam Bedell was drafted and later signed by the Columbus Crew of the MLS. Bedell was picked 45th overall in the third round of the MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 21, 2014. Bedell became the first Titan to ever be drafted and finished the year third in the Horizon League in points (21), fourth in goals (8) while tying for sixth in assists (5), and graduated in sixth place all time at UDM in career points (67), goals (23), and assists (22). Junior goalkeeper Nathan Steinwasher led the Horizon League with 99 saves and junior Matt Vbarraad had four assists to rank second on the team.
The Summer prospect camp is set to take place on 29th June, from 8:15am to 4:30pm.
