The 2017 Erskine College Men’s Soccer Senior Elite Academy is a 4-day event from July 9 to July 12, 2017. It invites all 9th to 12th-grade male soccer players. This training program is a venue to immerse participants in a college level training atmosphere. The program aims to improve the player’s technical skills and tactical awareness. It will also improve their physical and psychological capabilities. Participants will also play competitive games. The whole event will be a challenging but fun experience. It will start at 1:00 PM on Day 1 and end at 11:00 on Day 4. It will take place at Huggins Field inside Erskine College campus. Check-ins will be at the Galloway Gymnasium.
Erskine College is a private Christian college. It is in the academic village of Due West. It is a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Erskine College is Tier 2 in the National Liberal Arts Colleges, 2017 edition of Best Colleges ranking. It also has a Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation. Currently, it accommodates around 600 students. The college sponsors 16 athletics teams. These teams are competing in the Conference Carolinas of NCAA Division 2. Their nickname is Flying Fleet. And, their identity colors are maroon and gold. The college men’s soccer team is the 2013 Conference Carolinas Regular Season co-champions.
2017 Erskine College Men’s Soccer Senior Elite Academy Organizers
The Flying Fleet men’s soccer head coach is Warren Turner. He is the team’s head coach since 2006. Coach Turner is the 2010 Conference Carolinas Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year awardee. Also, he is a 2-time Coach of the Year during his stint with the Greenville High School soccer team. As a player, Coach Turner was a member of the All-South Atlantic Conference team as well as the All-Southern Region team. Then, the Flying Fleet assistant coach is Tom Halsall. Coach Halsall is a former goalkeeper at Lee University. He is a member of the 2014 NCCAA National Championship team. Also, Coach Halsall is a member of the 20114 NCCAA 1st team All-American.
